Brendan Prost is a DIY filmmaker, a graduate of Simon Fraser University, and a recent resident of the Directors' Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. He is best known as the unabashedly personal young auteur behind four feature films, Choch (2011) ("one of the intriguing and involving low-budget indies to cross my desk in 2011" - The Independent Critic), Generation Why (2009) (Rising Star Award Winner at the Canada International Film Festival - 2010), Spaces and Reservations (2014) ("a grounded and thought provoking look at modern love" - FilmPulse.net), and the recently completed Sensitive Parts (2017).Brendan's directing credits also include a diverse set of short films on a variety of formats, including the improvised act of self-interrogation turned web series Best Friends for Life (2013) (Official Selection - Montreal World Film Festival) and the musical drama Getting There (2014) (Official Selection - Calgary International Film Festival). Currently, Brendan is in post-production on a new short, and is also in development on his fifth feature film project.Originally a child actor from Calgary, Brendan relocated to Vancouver six years ago to pursue his education. There, he has continued to pursue his interest in performance-intensive, personal narrative filmmaking while collaborating with his peers in a myriad of ways. Brendan's films are characterized by their evocative, earnest spirit and particular emphasis on character.
