In 2013, after reading James Dashner's international bestselling adventure story, The Maze Runner, a then twelve-year-old Blake Cooper related so well to the character of 'Chuck' that, upon discovering a big screen adaptation in the works, he took to Twitter to voice his case to play the role. The book's rabid fan base took it from there with a passionate grassroots casting campaign, ultimately convincing director Wes Ball to audition the young actor. Blake landed the role of Chuck, and the rest is history, as The Maze Runner (20th Century Fox) opened nationwide on September 19th, 2014, effectively launching the career of this Boy Scout from an Atlanta-area farm to the Hollywood limelight.Following The Maze Runner, Blake was cast as Xander Paxon, the son of Sam Trammell and grandson of Brian Dennehy, in Amazon Studio's pilot, Cocked. In late 2015 he joined Johnny Simmons, Brittany Snow, J.K. Simmons, and Jane Lynch in Kevin Pollak's The Late Bloomer, a comedy/drama about a man who experiences all the changes and effects of puberty over a three-week period. The Late Bloomer is in post-production and will be released in 2017. Blake also scored the lead role in the coming-of-age film Measure Of A Man in which he stars alongside Donald Sutherland as troubled teen Bobby Marks, a bullied teen that experiences a turning point summer in which he learns to stand up for himself. Measure Of A Man will be released in late 2016.When he's not acting, Blake and his three older siblings enjoy swimming and doing the Brazilian Martial Arts form, Capoeira. Blake is also very involved in his local Boy Scouts troop - he ranks as a First Class Scout and is a Patrol Leader. Talented in music as well as acting, Blake plays the guitar and has won two awards for his singing. He enjoys Queen, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Mumford & Sons, and One Republic. A huge video game fan, Blake's current favorites include Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Civilization V, and Destiny.Blake loves animals and has grown up on a farm with horses, sheep, French Bulldogs, a Jack Russell Terrier, six cats, giant bunnies, a mule, a donkey, and a pig!
