The youngest child of seven with five older brothers and one sister, Athena Maria Bitzis was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Maria (Hughes) and Nick Bitzis. The name Bitzis is of Greek origin; her other ancestry is Greek, Irish, Welsh, and Cherokee Indian. At the early age of six, Athena began acting, singing and dancing in school and local theater productions.After graduating from Northside School of the Arts, she began to pursue her dream of acting. Athena began acting and dancing in theater, performing roles in such regional productions and tours like The Music Man, Hello, Dolly!, 42nd Street, Will Rogers' Follies, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast. She then moved to Orlando, FL to perform in the live stage productions of Beauty and the Beast and The Spirit of Pocahontas at Walt Disney World Florida. Her film career started when she was cast as Roxy in Bloodmoon with Frank Gorshen. Athena then went on to work in the DreamWorks film Forces of Nature as Juanita the Bulltamer opposite Ben Affleck, Sandra Bullock and Steve Zahn. Other films include A Conspiracy and Immortalis.Athena can also be seen on the NBC television series, Constantine.Most recently she completed Star Trek: First Frontier (2015), an Indie Fan Film.
