Arthur Edmund Carewe was born on December 30, 1884 in Trapzon (Trebizond), Turkey as Hovsep Hovsepian. He was an actor, known for The Phantom of the Opera (1925), The Cat and the Canary (1927) and Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933). He was married to Irene Pavlowska. He died on April 22, 1937 in Santa Monica, California, USA.
