Anton Monsted is a film music supervisor and executive based in Los Angeles.He started his film career as an assistant to the director Baz Luhrmann on the 1996 film adaptation of "William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet", starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. In 1997, Luhrmann and Monsted collaborated under their music production pseudonym BLAM, releasing the compilation album "Something for Everybody" which included the surprise hit, "Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen)", also known as "The Sunscreen Song". This led to him to the role of Music Supervisor and Executive Music Producer on Luhrmann's next film, "Moulin Rouge", released in 2001. Monsted and Luhrmann collaborated on a series of music, live stage, and film projects including the film "Australia" (2008), and "The Great Gatsby" (2013), on which Monsted served as the executive music supervisor, and co-producer of the film.In 2013, Monsted relocated to Los Angeles to work at Twentieth Century Fox, as Senior Vice President of Music. In 2018, he took up the newly created position of EVP Soundtracks and A&R at Capitol Music Group. In 2021, Monsted reunited with Luhrmann to music supervise "ELVIS" for Warner Bros Pictures. In June 2022, Monsted was named head of music for original movies at Amazon Studios.
