The daughter of an entertainer, Ann was educated at Covents in Chelsea and Hertford and Mater Dei College in Welwyn Garden City. She started her career as a dancer before switching to acting. As an actress, she appeared on the London stage in plays such as "Spring Awakening" and "The Knack". Ann married the actor Michael MacKenzie.
