Miss World Canada 2015.Determined to be a voice for the voiceless, Anastasia Lin has dedicated her life to religious freedom. Through her work as a international film star, sought-after model, and human rights activist, she has combined her personal passion for human rights with her professional talents to become a recognized voice in the human rights community. Those dual pursuits are reflected in her studies at the University of Toronto, where she double majors in International Relations and Theatre/Acting. As often as possible, she works at the confluence of her activism and acting, playing roles in films and television productions that carry messages of freedom, morality, and openness.Anastasia continually increases her role as a young leader. In 2012, she was one of eleven stakeholders to meet Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird for the establishment of Canada's Office of Religious Freedom. Prior to that in 2011, Anastasia was one of ten Youth Leaders who met Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bob Dechert to consult on the same issue.Fluent in English and Mandarin, as well as conversational Japanese, Anastasia has earned an extensive list of more than 20 credits in film and television. She is best known as the lead actress in the award-winning film Beyond Destiny (2010). It tells the inspirational story of courage and love transcending death and garnered both the Mexico International Film Festival's Golden Palm Award and California's Indie Fest Award of Merit. Many of her other roles have also been well received, as has her many experiences as a model appearing on runways around from New York, to Toronto; she recently graced the runway of a New York Fashion Week show at the prestigious Waldorf-Astoria.She hopes both her studies and experience working on films will serve her one day as she pursues her goal of becoming a film director so that she can continue to promote human rights through film well into the future.
