Ana Rey was born in Los Angeles, of Cuban parents. She attended Hawthorne High School, received a BA from Loyola Marymount University, studied Shakespeare in England and Improv in Los Angeles. She is best known as Irma, the housekeeper, on Californication (2007). She has appeared in television, films, and on stage. Her stage work has taken her from classical English and Spanish language works (Shakespeare and Zorrilla) to experimental expressionist pieces (adaptations of the works of Edgar Allen Poe).
