Amrou was a student at the University of Cambridge (2009-2013), where he started the well established musical comedy drag troupe, Denim, which he is the lead performer of as alter-ego Glamrou. Denim is now supported by MAC Cosmetics, and performed with Florence and the Machine at Glastonbury when she headlined in 2015. He continued his acting training at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in New York after he graduated from the University of Cambridge.Amrou wrote and starred in short film "Nightstand", which was executive produced by Stephen Fry and is distributed by Peccadillo Pictures. The film has been screened at festivals and cinemas around the world, including the BAFTA recognised LSFF and Oscar qualifying Athens International Film and Video Festival, and LGBT Festivals from Paris to Melbourne, as well as a theatrical and DVD release with Peccadillo Pictures.Amrou is the co-creator, co-writer, and star of "Nefertiti," at TV comedy series in development with Big Talk Productions. His first feature "Leather & Sweaters" that he has written and is starring in, is in development at Hopscotch Films.Amrou works extensively as a writer/performer/actor, from a cameo in the upcoming "Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie" to roles on HBO's "Transporter" and in Steven Spielberg's "Munich".
