Researcher, Professor, Neuroscientist Dr. Amishi Jha studies how to keep the brain's attention systems in peak shape over high-pressure intervals. She has discovered that without intervention, individuals experiencing high stress (such as soldiers, athletes, teachers, students, and business professionals) suffer from failures in attention and working memory and that engaging in mindfulness training to cultivate greater present moment awareness protects against these effects. Her research is continuing to explore how attention can be trained for optimal performance and well-being.
