A native of the Bell Island, Newfoundland and a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Allan Hawco is one of the country's most exciting stars. As co-creator, Hawco was the show-runner, wrote, executive produced and stared in the hit CBC television drama/comedy "Republic of Doyle". Hawco played Jake Doyle, the roguish and irreverent private investigator at the center of a colourful cast of characters who live and work together as an extended family while they try and run a "P.I" racket in St. John's, Newfoundland. Republic of Doyle ran on CBC in Canada for it's six season run and has sold to markets all around the world including a syndication deal across America."Republic of Doyle" was produced by his company, "Take the Shot Productions" which is currently in production of their new "Netflix" original series, "Frontier" where Hawco plays fur trader, Douglas Brown. "Frontier" is created and written by Take the Shot's Rob and Peter Blackie as well as Perry Chafe. Directors include Brad Peyton and John Vatcher.In 2005, Hawco co-founded and is still currently the Co-Artistic Director of The Company Theatre in Toronto Canada.
