Born in Baltimore, MD to Dr Nicos Stavrou & Myra Stavrou(now Myra Menicou) with one older sibling, Electra Stavrou. Alexi grew up living back and forth between two continents; USA & Europe. ALexi split his adolescent & teen years living between Cyprus and Youngstown, OH. Primarily he grew up in Youngstown, OH where he attended high school and received a BA in theatre studies from Youngstown State University.In 2005 Alexi began his professional acting career in Cyprus on the hit sitcom 'To Kafeneio' (the coffee shop) where he played the recurring character Fanos. He also performed for E.T.H.A.L theatre in the National tour of 'Angela' by G. Sevastikoglou, in the leading role of Stratos. Alexi was also a member of the children touring theatre company 'Theatro Quintes.' In 2006 he received an MA in Ancient Greek tragedies from I.T.I CyprusIn late 2006 Alexi Stavrou moved to London to train at Drama Centre London. He received an MA in Classical European acting after completing an intensive acting course which included 3 months working at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and two months intensive training at the Shukin Institute of Moscow.After little success as a stage actor in London Alexi returned to Cyprus where he quickly rose to fame on the TV show 'Se Fonto Kokkino' as the mysterious character Alex. "Se Fonto Kokkino' was the number 1 show in Cyprus until it ended after 4 seasons. Alexi left the show in the 3rd season. Between 2010 - 2012 Alexi followed his success with his role as the cheeky and romantic Phillipos on the show that replaced 'Se Fonto Kokkino' as number 1, 'Aspra Ballonia.' Alexi followed up with a starring role in the dark drama 'To Miden' as Marios, and also 'To Trito Simadi' as Viktoras. He also produced and/or starred in 5 short films, 2 of which were accepted by the International Short Film festival of Cyprus in 2012; 'Choices' & 'Sunrise Sunset'In 2011 Alexi Stavrou ran for the Parliament of Cyprus as a candidate for the Green Party. In 2011 he also co founded the acting school at Lefki Athina Cultural Centre in Limassol. In late 2012 Alexi stopped working in Cyprus and moved to Los Angeles where he is pursuing a career in acting, stand up comedy, and is the owner of the mobile coffee business The Little Greek Coffee House.
