Alexandra Elisha Grey was born in Chicago, Illinois. Raised in seven foster homes, she was determined to not be a stereotype and to always follow her dreams of making it on the big screen. After high-school, she relocated to California where she began studying Theater at California State University Northridge and soon after began a career in television. Her roles include Glee (2009), Transparent (2014), Chicago Med (2015), and Little Blue Sky. This Fall, she is set to guest-star on season 2 of the CBS TV Medical Drama "Code Black" alongside Camryn Manheim and Eric Roberts, and in 2017 will play opposite "Dule Hill" in the New CBS Legal Drama "Doubt". Grey also signed on to play Seville Anderson in the new ABC mini-series "When We Rise" directed by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black. She is also transgender.
