Alexander was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. People that grew up with him use to call him "Cientifico Loco" the "Mad Scientist" due to his natural scientific abilities, and, because he suffers from ADHD, his tendency to create disasters with his numerous experiments. His love for acting began at the age of 12 while acting in a 2 plays called "Puff el Dragon Majico" (Puff the Majic Dragon) and "La Buena y la Mala Suerte" (The Good and Bad luck). This community summer camp helped him connect with more seasoned actors and stage directors. During the next few years he was involved in a variety of small productions. In 1979, Alex got a lucky break, during an unexpected stay with relatives in California, he was invited to work as an production assistant on the the film Scavenger Hunt. He kept his participation in that movie and any further acting secret from both his family and friends. Over the years he has being involved in a variety of projects. His love for science kept him always returning back to college. He has degrees in Computer Science, Univ Sacret Heart, Physics, Univ of Michigan, and Advanced Theoretical Physics and Astronomy, Univ of Iowa. Due to his work in a number of classified projects, his TV and movie appearances have dwindle to a minimum. Today he is married to a successful female dentist. He has 2 kids and enjoys the occasional acting job whenever he has the chance. In 2003 he was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. In a 2006 interview he says that with planning, myasthenia gravis is not going to stop him from trying new things. He said that he is currently writing a book about his experiences with doctors and the state of medicine in Oregon and a independent feature film called "Perceptionland". In February 17 2006 he had to put all those projects on hold due to an unexpected gallbladder operation. This operation is very common and people leave the hospital almost the same day, however due to his myasthenia gravis and several other complication during surgery, his recovery will take a bit more time. He is in good spirits and is planning to take some time to smell the roses and relax with his family. "Perceptionland" and his book are on hold for the time being. Show less «
