Alexander Leaty was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Cuban parents, he is the youngest of four. When he was three his parents moved to Newark, New Jersey where he was raised. When he was sixteen his brother took him to New York to see Miss Saigon on Broadway. The play inspired him to want to be an actor. He did not do any theater in High School, however his Senior year he did a role-play in his Psychology class. His teacher told him that he should pursue acting. With that encouragement in mind he took acting classes in college and in a studio outside of college to perfect his craft. While attending Florida Atlantic University and an acting studio, he went on auditions and landed his first professional theatre role as a Military Doctor named Adam, in the Tony Award winning play, "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me". He received rave reviews from his home town newspaper and from the Palm Beach Post. He then did a couple of more stage plays such as 100 Women and Arabian Knights and moved on to do independent feature films such as Hidden Assets, Walt Before Mickey and Detours.Besides being an Actor, Alex is also a Screenwriter, Cinematography, Video Editor, Producer and Director.Alexander Leaty received an AA degree in Film Communication from Palm Beach Community College, and graduated in 2007 with a BA degree in Multimedia Studies: Film and Video from Florida Atlantic University.
