Born in England, director Alber Ponte moved to Spain when he was five years old. As a teenager, he says, he travelled "like Jack London." His voyages ultimately put him face to face with a filmmaking hero. "In 1984, " recalls Ponte, "I was in Mexico with John Huston. I wrote a script with him. I have a lovely letter he sent to me.
