Jax Teller is the vice president of the Sons of Anarchy California Redwood Originals Motorcycle Club (SAMCRO), who is trying to remake the increasingly violent gun-running club into the one founded by his late father, John Thomas JT Teller. Jax is willing to compromise this goal in the short term for the club's and his long term future. Jax is guided by a manuscript of his father's that he recently discovered. The Life and Death of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way talks about how the club, under the influence of Jax's now step-father, Clay Morrow, is heading down a bad path. As Jax learns more about Clay's history with his father, their relationship becomes more complicated. Clay is married to Jax's meddling, tough-as-nails mother, Gemma, who fully embraces her role as an old lady in the club. (The family dynamic and ghostly influence of Jax's late father is modeled on Shakespeare's Hamlet.)Jax is tough, but sensitive and shows genuine love for his family, whose safety he puts above all else. His love for the club and his brothers in it is a close second, particularly his childhood friend, Opie Winston. He doesn't mind violence, sometimes in the extreme, if it serves a purpose.Jax is more than just a thug, showing the ability to plan, manipulate and scheme to achieve his aims. He is able to swallow his distaste for someone to do business with them if it serves his purpose, but he never forgets when he has been wronged and always settles his scores eventually. He is very good at seeing the angles different people are playing, but has a habit of running from one mess into another. Background: Jax was born in 1978 and raised in Charming, California, and grew up with SAMCRO. His day job is as a mechanic at Teller-Morrow garage. He is the father of Abel, with his junkie ex-wife Wendy. Abel inherited a congenital heart defect from Gemma's side of the family which also led to the death of Jax's brother, Thomas, when he was six-years-old. Jax has another son, Thomas, with his girlfriend Tara, his former high school girlfriend who returned to Charming. He has served time in prison for smuggling and gun-running, his last arrest was in 2003. Jax rides a 2003 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport. Show less «
