Raised in Bonnyville, Alberta, he started playing guitar at age 11 and began performing with school friends including Drew Shalka, who's band FKB he would later join. Since joining FKB in 2013, Travis has played hundreds of shows and toured across Canada and the United States with the band, and has shared the stage with notable acts such as the Trews, Pop Evil, Mother Mother, Bif Naked, the Road Hammers, Dan Davidson, Scott Helman, and Dear Rouge. He has released an EP and four singles with FKB, all of which were produced by Juno Award winner Clayton Bellamy (the Road Hammers, Clayton Bellamy & the Congregation). The band's 2017 single, "Bright Lights," was nominated for an Edmonton Music Award that year. Their 2018 single, "Casual Love," was released via KnightVision Records (a division or Warner Music), and the music video was shown at the 2018 Edmonton Short Film Festival. In 2019, director Chris Cowden approached FKB to portray themselves in his upcoming feature film, Moments in Spacetime, to be released later that year.
