Atsushi Sakahara is a Japanese film director/producer/writer/novelist. He is currently based in Kyoto, Japan. He is a lecturer at Kyoto Seika University and at Osaka Metropolitan University's graduate school, economics department. He produced Bean Cake, a Palme d'Or winning short film at Cannes 2001. He directed "Don't call me father", a short film. Paul Milgrom, one of producers of this film won Nobel Prize in Economics 2020. He directed a documentary: "Me and the Cult Leader- A modern report on the banality of evil in 2020". The film was premiered at Sheffield Doc Festa 2020 and invited to many film festivals and it was also shortlisted for IDA Awards 2020. It won Grand Prix in competition Asia at EBS international documentary film festival. He is currently researching on a novel idea generation method as a Ph.D student at the School of Regional Development and Creativity at Utsunomiya University. He is the author of "Chiisakutemo Katemasu" a business entertainment novel released by Diamond Company, the publisher for Harvard business review's Japanese edition. With the novel, people can learn so much about management theory they would learn at MBA program. The book is re-released as a paperback with a new title as a series from Shueisha in 2023. and he is already working on the sequel novel of the book. He is a member of The Japan P.E.N. Club as a Novelist.Olivia Rosenthal, a french novelist interviewed him in 2018 and released a novel based on it in 2022.
