It's a series of adventures and drama written by Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews where they explore more secrets and anecdotes about Thra's extraordinary world. In this mysterious world, three Gelfling discovers the terrifying secret behind the mysterious power of Skeksis. There seems to be a danger coming as they all set out to ignite the insurgency and save their homeland before it is too late.
The joyful, stimulating, and masterfully crafted series transports the audience to an effervescent fantastical world, populated by irresistible characters. [Full review in Spanish]
Intentionally or not, "Age of Resistance" sports a number of bumper stickers on the back of its proverbial Subaru - "COEXIST" being the primary message, beautifully delivered.
There is some fantastic world-building going on here, which is one of the luxuries of telling a story across ten hours of television, rather than a single two-hour film.
There are real pleasures to be had watching beautiful puppets running, kissing and poking each others' eyes out. But the Dark Crystal is in such a hurry to create a splash it plunges off the deep end too soon.
As arresting as a landscape as the empty husk of Thra provided nearly four decades ago in the original film, the still-vibrant version presented in Age of Resistance tops it.
Easily transported me back to my childhood, to the magical and scary world of Thra. The entire production and execution is fantastic. [Full review in Spanish]
Understand: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is never anything less than impressive... But in entrusting so much of the story to puppets incapable of adequately executing its emotional demands, the series winds up feeling strangely empty.
