The documentary series presents a wide range of exclusive and documentaries related to Bill Clinton during his White House work. The documentary series begins with Gingrich, who is trying to close the government after the Republicans won the House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. President Clinton is courting Monica Lewinsky, who ends up courting a close meeting during the government's closure.
This docuseries is a step forward; it uses the tools of the historian, patiently working the facts of a still-familiar story to draw out its portrait of a moment.
"The Clinton Affair" effectively conveys that what transpired 20 years ago isn't mere history; rather, the ripples are still being very much felt today.
Listening to the audio of phone conversations between Tripp and Goldberg, or Tripp and the various FBI agents assisting her with ensnaring Lewinsky, is painful.
Highly watchable and skillfully told, "The Clinton Affair" is otherwise without perspective or insight. What did it all mean? Don't come here for answers.
