The series, starring Michael Landes and Ophelia Lovibond, follows Lady Alexandra (Ophelia Lovibond) and a dashing American rugged rogue called Hooten (Michael Landes) as they travel the world, from the Vatican to The Himalayas, the Amazon to Egypt, in their quest to save the world's lost treasures.
All in all, I think there is potential going forward. The leads are attractive and get along well, the locations are top notch, and the adventure aspect really does play well in the lazy summer months.
If you just need a fun show, that keeps it simple while offering up a decent dose of action, adventure and comedy, you've probably hit on a show that will carry you through the end of summer.
While a slapstick, British action-adventure series might not sound like CW material, the fact that it's so different from the rest of the network's typical programming is what makes it fit in perfectly. The show is summer television escapism at its finest
It's the way this particular series deals with goofy lines and expected clichés that actually makes it work. If you're looking for some lighthearted action, Hooten & The Lady will fit the bill.
