The photography, sets and costumes are first-rate, but the acting settles into a glib, amateurish rut. The performers don't sell the illusion; they keep calling attention to it.
Like, oh my god, chick superheroes! And they are, like, as totally dull and shallow as chick superheroes almost always are in Hollywood's limited imagination.
