The series offers a series of wonderful comedies that we live through that girl named Abe, where Abe decided to make a place in her unlicensed watering house in the back yard of the house. Now, many join for that bar where drinks are cheap and laughter abounds, but what makes this place so special is the presence of that wonderful girl Abe. Everyone tries to get to that bar for fun and maybe get a seat at the bar taking time.
There's a lot of room for tinkering on Abby's and a lot of elements that could eventually turn the show into a winner. Based on the early returns, it's going to take some patience. Or maybe just a few beers.
It is a solidly constructed sitcom of the family-by-association sort that does the nation the incidental favor of keeping Natalie Morales and Neil Flynn in public view.
because there's promise in the group of characters that inhabit Abby's bar, and that Morales is a fine sitcom lead. But just realize it might take a while for Abby's to achieve its potential.
Kind of like the titular bar itself, Abby's kind of sneaks up on you with its charm and relatively laid back attitude for a typically more frantic style of sitcom.
Early wobbliness aside, Abby's is not a show to dismiss. There is so much potential in its creators and cast... Hopefully Abby's will figure out soon how to make itself more at home.
