A group of good friends are breaking the law and opposing power. These friends tried to escape the police while searching for them and hid in the forest. Forests may be their only refuge, but they will meet an uninvolved park guard who may be a loser with a ax in his hand.
The Ranger is equal parts carnage, survival, and punk rock. It has all the appeal of an eighties slasher flick, but it also tells a more complex story.
It's pretty rough around the edges, part by design and part because this is Wexler's first movie, but it's a lot of fun and the kind of horror movie you want to put on at parties.
The real star of the show is [director] Jenn Wexler. While the script she co-wrote with Giaco Furino has believability issues, the film's overall tone is ambitious.
