Tong manages to cobble together a nice image now and then, but most of The Offering is painfully ineffectual and makes for a tedious viewing experience.

[An] uninspired, nonsensical mishmash, which crudely cobbles together second-hand religious imagery, abrasively noisy jump-scares, and - for some reason - techno-phobia.
The film steals elements from supernatural classics such as The Omen, The Exorcist, and The Ring. ... The elements don't add up to anything more than a muddle.
It doesn't outstay its welcome, and for those seeking a straightforward slice of old fashioned horror for an evening's entertainment, it has plenty to offer.
