The story of the story tells of more tragic drama that occurred after the execution of 200 resistance fighters and Greek Communists by the German occupiers. These tragic events began on May 1, 1944, in Kayseriani in retaliation for an ambush of the Greek Resistance against the Nazis, which was a heinous crime. There is a prominent figure in that story, the 34-year-old Napoleon Socatides, who fought and held in prison since 1936.
