Described as a supernatural Black Hawk Down, Spectral centers on a special-ops team that is dispatched to fight a supernatural enemy more powerful than any mortal that have taken over a European city.
More action than horror/sci-fi, but it works well to create an entertaining hybrid fueled by charismatic actors, strong CG work, and some solidly exciting combat sequences.
Spectral probably won't win many awards for originality, but if you're down for a "ghosts vs. soldiers" action flick that doesn't take itself all that seriously [and] moves at a nice pace... then Spectral will probably fit the bill.
For a mainstream supernatural-fantasy war film, Spectral is curiously devoted to rhapsodizing about science, and considering the moral implications of scientific discovery.
