When Sara (Elizabeth Hurley) is served divorce papers while she is in New York, she is stunned. She then persuades Tyler, the process server, to serve Moore's husband instead so that she can get a larger portion of his money in the divorce.
A third-rate conflation of Midnight Run and It Happened One Night, Serving Sara relies heavily on Perry's perpetually exasperated shtick, which fits more comfortably among the democratic ensemble of TV's Friends.
Perry and Hurley banter and bicker in the old screwball tradition, and it's clear from the start that they're supposed to fall in love. They just don't sell it with much conviction.
