In the previous part, Riddick became the Commander of Necromonger but he has still been haunting worried about his home planet, Furya. One day, Vaako says that he knows where Furya is and he wants to have a deal with Riddick to become the new Commander, then he will reveal the position of Furya and a ship to take Riddick there. In spite of suspecting Vaako, Riddick strikes the deal and starts the journey with some liegeman to find the home planet. Can he go back to his home? What will happen in this planet?
What's disappointing about Riddick is that it never seems to figure out why we would want to follow the main character, outside of his propensity for violence and snark.
He's spent the bulk of his career hiding in franchises, hypermasculinizing himself. We can live with this. But this new movie makes you wonder whether Diesel can.
