On the First Communion of his beloved daughter, Bob wants her to have a beautiful and brand-new dress. Since he is poor and cannot afford to buy the costly dress, Bob ends up with a disastrous decision in trying to raise the money.
The film is good-hearted and the characters are easy to identify with, but what I liked best was the underlying humor, even in this desperate situation.
A gripping and occasionally disturbing look at parental sacrifice.
