Watch Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
A teen boys discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. Based on the book by Rick Riordan.
It is a bad adaption. But if you put the book aside it is a 2.5 - 3.0 stars movie. The effects and acting was alright. It did leave out alot of scenes but whatever. Overall, If you are looking for a ok family movie this is it., but a faithful adaption, better get your trident and stab it out.

Time Out
It's not enough to compensate for the computer-game-style plotting, which is largely based on us picking up narrative nuggets that mechanically slot into place later on.
The plot uses the presence of the Greek gods as an indistinct outline to influence teenagers who are more interested in the prestige and glamor of their connection than the responsibility that comes with it.
I thought it was mischievous and witty and amusing and I was just sort of drawn into it.

Percy Jackson is simply uninspired in every single meaning of the word. It's probably the crassest, most obviously derivative work of this sort since Eragon.
Director Chris Columbus has brought together the modern and mythical spheres with sharp pacing and a nifty sense of fun that atone for the film's dippier moments. It's his most enjoyable effort since Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
