The movie is about an intellectual crime investigation team and a notorious fraud surrounding a grand scam. It follows an investigator (Gang Dong-won) as he pursues the president (Lee Byung-hun) of a Korean company that's involved in fraud and corruption.
A competently made but generic copy of a twisty Hong Kong-style crime drama, the details that elevate this from the pack are its references to the politics and culture of South Korea.
A high-octane action thriller [set in] the corrupt world of finance and big business. But beyond the glamour, action and exotic locations, it's a shallow, superficial endeavour.
The performances are solid to great throughout, and Cho does build to a remarkably satisfying final twenty minutes, but it takes two hours to get there.
