Film focuses on two major story line. One is focused on the obsession of Ty Ty Walden about buried gold, he thinks, somewhere on his land. The other concerns his son-in-law Will Thompson’s effort to reopen the cotton mill which has been shut down by the owners due to a workers’ strike. Both men are obsessed by their goals and are willing to risk all, their families and even their lives, to achieve.
As a huge fan of director Anthony Mann, I'm always eager to check out anything he did, but God's Little Acre is something of an oddball curiosity on his resume.
