This story follows a young Kashmiri boy Noor, his muse Firdus and a mercurial Begum, through love lost and realized over the course of two generations. Noor (Aditya Roy Kapur) tries to win the heart of Firdus (Katrina Kaif), while her mother Begum (Tabu) hatches a scheme to end his quest for true love.
Forget the flowers and chocolate this Valentine's Day. Instead, invite your sweetheart to this lushly photographed , epic love story from India. There's no dancing but the couple really kiss!
"Fitoor" doesn't get much political resonance out of its Kashmiri setting, though the wintry sadness of the first scenes has power. Nor does it get much resonance out of class differences between Noor and Firdaus.
