Too obvious in its quest for quirkiness, director Florian Cossen's German-Canadian indie about a suicidal 16-year-old named Mike Tyson (Alex Ozerov) has some original moments, but not enough of them to make Coconut Hero stand out.
Coconut Hero turns into a film about an oddball kid relieved to find out he has a brain tumour, a new escape hatch from his small Canadian town seemingly populated by Wes Anderson's bastard children.
