It's a colourful, high spirited tale with endearing characters, non stop action and plenty of heart, as Australia's favourite koala embarks on a grand Outback adventure in search of his missing father
The thing that makes us sit up and take notice here is the sheer Aussie-ness of the characters, as well as the strange and wondrous depiction of the Australian outback.
Accompanying adults may notice that the plotting could be tighter and the animation could be more sophisticated, but at 87 minutes, Blinky at least knows when to say "Hooroo".
Hey kids! If your parents reveal plans to put you anywhere near Blinky Bill the Movie this school holidays, you are quite within your rights to ask why you are being punished in this way.
Even the most sophisticated software can't give characters a sense of weight or a way of moving that suggests their personality. Nor can it create an engaging story.
