Woodrow ''Woody'' Blake, was the commander on board the second manned mission to mars, Mars Recovery. The first mission had ended in disaster following the crew beaming radar into ''The Face''. A mysterious tornado like force came from the top of ''The Face'' and killed three of the four astronauts, leaving one to ''figure out it's secret''. Blake was aboard Mars Recovery with Jim McConnell, Terri Fisher and Phil Ohlmyer when the ship was hit by micrometiorites. Following this, Blake went E.V.A. (Extra Vehecular Activity), stop the ship's atmosphere leaking into space by repairing the holes. Blake, however, only looked over the ship's crew's quarters, and not the whole craft. Blake and the crew were forced to try and rendezvous with the ReMo (Resupply Module), when the ignition ignited the fuel which had leaked from a damaged fuel tank. He used his suit jets to get near to the ReMo, and attatched the tether to it. He was travelling at a high velocity however, as he had over shot the ReMo and ran out of fuel. When the rest of the crew made it to the ReMo, they had planned to go and retrieve Woody, but he was too far away. Blake subsequently realised he was at a point of no return, and took his space helmet off. Woody presumably burned up in the atmosphere.
