Warren 'Red' Barr is the main villain in Breakdown. He is played by J.T. Walsh in the movie. In the movie when Jeff and Amy Taylor's jeep breaks down in the middle of the dessert a trucker named Warren 'Red' Barr stops by and offers to help by giving Jeff's wife Amy to a diner nearby to which she accepts. Soon afterwards Jeff manages to fix the jeep and heads off to the diner but doesn't find his wife there and he goes searching for her. Soon he catches up to Barr in his truck and asks where his wife is but Barr says that he has never seen Jeff nor his wife before. Jeff manages to flag down a passing police officer and explains to the officer what has happened. The officer searches through Barr's truck and doesn't find Amy anywhere and tells Barr he is free to go to which Barr wishes Jeff good luck in finding his wife and leaves. Later on after Jeff is chased by one of Barr's men named Earl he gets his jeep stuck in the water but manages to escape and secretly watches as Earl and another one of Barr's henchman named Al pull his jeep out of the water and he is knocked out by Barr's third henchmen Billy. Soon Jeff awakens in the trunk of a car and is ordered by Billy and Earl to get out and he comes face to face with Barr who says that he has Amy but won't give her back to Jeff unless Jeff gives him his whole money to which Jeff agrees to and goes to the nearby bank to get some. After fighting off Earl Jeff soon secretly catches up with Barr at the truck stop and listens as Barr orders Billy and Al to bring Jeff's wife Amy to his barn and then leaves and Jeff secretly gets on the back of the truck and rides with Barr to his house. Once Barr arrives home he is greeted by his wife Arleen and son Deke. Barr tells Arleen that Al and Billy are coming over and to go in and make breakfeast. He then tells Deke to open the barn for him to which Deke does and Barr gives him a knife. Soon Al and Billy arrive and Barr helps them get Amy off of the truck and lock her in the basement and leave to go into the house unaware that Jeff is watching them from inside the barn. Once inside the house Barr, Al, Billy, and Arleen have breakfeast when Jeff enters with a gun demanding Barr to give him the key to the basement. Deke appears with a shotgun and Barr orders his son to shoot Jeff but Jeff knocks it out of Deke's hand and it hits Al in the arm and Billy runs out of the house for freedom. Jeff points his gun at Barr and orders him and the others into the basement where Arleen frees Amy and Jeff orders Barr in the others in the basement to which Barr begins to threaten Jeff that he'll find him no matter where he goes and Jeff kicks Barr in the face and locks him and the others in the basement and flees with his wife Amy in a pickup truck. After being freed by Billy Barr chases Jeff and Amy in his truck while Billy and Al follow in cars. Billy and Al crash their cars during the pursuit and die but Barr continues to follow Jeff and Amy in his truck and tries to ram the pickup truck over a bridge. Jeff manages to climb into Barr's truck and take control causing Barr's truck to hang over the bridge. Barr and Jeff begin to fight eachother but Jeff manages to pull Barr over the bridge and he falls into the water and is presumed dead. Jeff and Amy reunite but notice Barr moving and Amy pulls the truck's lever which causes the truck to fall from the bridge and onto Barr crushing him and killing him. Show less «
