Tom Turbine was a member of the Justice Guild of America, a superhero group on a parallel Earth. During his time as a superhero, Tom Turbine battled the Injustice Guild. He died along with the rest of the JGA during a war that destroyed most of their world. He, along with the rest of the Justice Guild, died a second time defeating Ray Thompson, who had recreated them all, in an illusion of his past world.Tom's powers came from a flat circular push-button-activated turbine that he wore on a waistbelt that was linked to metal wristlets and anklets he wore. When activated, it gave him super strength and the power of flight. Like the Golden Age Superman, the flight power may be just his enhanced strength granting him the ability to jump or leap very far. He is also a technological genius who invented his gadgets and a trans-dimensional teleporter.Tom and the other Guildsmen act like Golden Age heroes. They have a black-and-white morality and tend to use violence to solve problems. As a case in point, they jumped to conclusions when they saw The Flash holding the Stradivarius stolen by the Music Master and immediately attacked the Justice League.Tom Turbine is like Golden Age Atom (AKA Al Pratt) and the Golden Age version of Superman (AKA Clark Kent / Kal-El of Krypton).
