Thomas , aka Tom, is a composite character of the various male friends of real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Wuornos was a frequent customer at a Florida bar named The Last Resort , and had a number of male acquaintances there. Tom is based on those acquaintances.In the film, Aileen considers Tom her only real friend. He looks out for her, and desperately tries to save her from being arrested, but to no avail. Show less «
