Stanley Roper is the cheap, penny-pinching landlord of a multiple unit apartment building. He is married to Helen, who is constantly trying to get Stanley to have sex with her. Stanley, in turn, always finds some way out of having to commit to her attempts at intimacy.Some of his building tenants are Chrissy Snow, Jack Tripper, and Janet Wood. At first, Stanley is against the idea of one man living with two innocent girls. In order to secure Jack's residence, Janet and Chrissy lie to Mr. Roper and tell him Jack is a homosexual. From that moment on, Jack constantly finds himself being referred to as Tinkerbell by Mr. Roper.In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Roper sold their building to Ralph Furley and moved into a townhouse. The characters of Mr. and Mrs. Roper had their own spin-off series called The Ropers , co-starring Jeffrey Tambor. Unfortunately, the series was short-lived and was cancelled after one and a half seasons.The Ropers did return to Three's Company for one final guest appearance in 1981. Show less «
