Sir Henry Baskerville was the nephew and heir of Sir Charles Baskerville, Baronet, the owner of Baskerville Hall in the moors of Devonshire. The family was said to be cursed by a murderous coal black spectral hound the size of a calf, due to an ancestor vowing to sell his soul to the devil to capture a yeoman's daughter.Henry Baskerville lived in North America since the age of 15. Upon the controversial death of his uncle, Henry, now aged 30, returns to England to claim the title and estate. At his hotel, he receives an anonymous letter that warns him If you value your life or your reason, keep away from the moor. He shows the note to the executor of his uncle's will, Dr. Mortimer. Dr. Mortimer, privy to the circumstances of Sir Charles Baskerville's death, had already consulted Sherlock Holmes on the mystery. He suggests Sir Henry show the letter to Holmes and follow his advice.Sir Henry and Dr. Mortimer consults Sherlock Holmes and thus begins the events in the novel The Hound of The Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and shown in this movie.
