Scut, also known as Scotty and whose last name alternative spelling is Farkus, is the antagonist and neighborhood bully in the film A Christmas Story (1983). Little is known about Scut's personal history. He is known as the bully who scared Ralphie Parker, the protagonist of the film, and his two friends Flick and Schwartz, after knocking over Ralphie's little brother Randy an alley way after school one day. This attack was retaliated by Ralphie's overwhelming response of snapping and attacking Scut, leaving Scut with a bloody nose. Scut's toadie, or sidekick, Grover Dill, is a short boy who backs up Scut and aspires to be just like him. As the neighborhood bully, Scut uses his skills of intimidation and yelling, plus his physical stature, to terrify and taunt the younger neighborhood boys. Scut's specific age is not given, but he is believed to be a teenager between the ages of 13 and 15. He spends the majority of his time lurking in alley ways and in shadows, ready to scare the younger boys whenever they pass by. His most memorable traits are his fiery red hair, freckled complexion, his coonskin cap, and his maniacal (and slightly hysterical) laughter.
