Rob Hawkins is Beth McIntyre's ex-boyfriend and the recently elected vice president of a Japanese company (either Tagruato or Slusho). He was a close friend of Beth's since they were in middle school but after he slept with her less than a month before the monster attacked New York, he did not speak to her for some time and she got a new boyfriend, and he did not learn of this until he saw her at the surprise party for him before he went to Japan. After the attack, they went outside and tried to escape but Rob's brother Jason was killed, and shortly afterward Rob got a call from Beth who was trapped and couldn't move. Rob resolves to rescue Beth, assisted by his best friend Hudson Platt, Jason's girlfriend Lily Ford, and Lily's friend Marlena Diamond. During this time they had many close encounters with the monster and its smaller parasites and eventually Marlena and Hud were killed while Lily was forcibly evacuated by the army. Ultimately, however, Rob managed to rescue Beth but both were trapped in Central Park when the army began Operation Hammer Down against the monster, and were presumably killed by the rubble.Yeah.
