Powers: Quicksilver is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. He was originally capable of running at the speed of sound. The character's speed allows him to perform feats such as creating cyclone-strength winds; running up walls and crossing bodies of water. It has been revealed that one of the reasons for his abrasive and impatient personality is that it seems to him that the rest of the world is moving in slow motion and that he is constantly waiting for it to catch up.Backstory: The character first appears with his twin sister, the Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff), as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. The siblings are mutants, with Pietro possessing superhuman speed and Wanda being able to control probability. The pair are recruited by their father, Magneto, who saves Wanda from a mob after she accidentally sets a house on fire. Quicksilver stays with her to protect her.[5] After several confrontations with the X-Men, they are recruited by Iron Man to join the superhero team, the Avengers.Whipplton Grivillpotsman*** SPOILERS *** Avengers Backstory: Pietro and Wanda lose their family when they are 10 years old. Two bombs hit their house but only one of them explodes. Written on the side of the unexploded bomb is Stark . Later, they volunteer for human testing by Hydra operatives and are the only ones to survive the tests. That's how they get their powers: Quicksilver being super fast and Scarlet Witch being able to move objects and manipulate minds. Their first mission is to kill Avengers but the Avengers attack their boss and infiltrate their Hydra base. Later, when Ultron is created, they join his side still wanting to kill Avengers not knowing who Avengers really are and what they really do. When Ultron becomes Vision, Scarlet Witch is able to read his mind and finds out that Ultron doesn't' only want Avengers dead, he wants everybody on Earth dead. That's when Wanda and Pietro run off and start fighting against Ultron on the side of the Avengers. During the last battle Hawkeye tells them, When you step out that door you're an Avenger. That is how they become Avengers. Sadly Quicksilver dies saving Hawkeye and a child from Ultron, who shoots them. His last words are You didn't see that coming. At the end of the movie, Wanda has joined the Avengers. It's rumoured that she'll be seen next in Avengers: Infinity War. (2018). Quicksilver is dead (at least for now). One never knows whether characters like Quicksilver will be resurrected for the inevitable sequels. (Small trivia item: Hawkeye's newborn child's name is Nathaniel Pietro Arton. Note that the child's middle name is derived from Quicksilver - Pietro Maximoff.
