Bill Welbrock is a professor in psychology at the college, where Olivia studies. They date and eventually get married. During ther marriage, Bill is very harsh and strict on Olivia, her kids, and his two kids that he has from a previous marriage. He then becomes an alcoholic and gets more. Olivia takes her kids, walks out, and divorces Bill.
