She remains loyal to Tom when he punches her in the face. Her loyalty is sad in light of the fact that her husband, George is the one that freaks out when she dies. He goes all the way to killing the person he thinks is responsible for her death. Her loyalty is also sad in light of the fact that Tom is married to Daisy, and has no intention of leaving her.
