Myrna is a waitress at the restaurant where Norman Bates got a food prep job after being released from the institution. One of two waitresses, Myrna becomes annoyed by the other waitress' failure to keep up with the busy workload. Her character is not really developed much other than making snide remarks to Norman, Do you still work here? (Then give me my G-D food orders!) and to the other screw-up waitress, Mary, who as we later find out, is really pretending to be a damsel in distress to gain access to Norman's motel and his life. (Because Norman murdered Mary's aunt 22 years previously, and Mary was recruited by her mother to try to make Norman go insane again so he can be recommitted to the institution.)Of interesting note, I have seen all 4 Tony Perkins approved Psycho movies over and over but did not discover this until now in 2015. In Psycho III the restaurant and many of its employees appear again, with the exception of one employee who does not appear because the employee is unexplainedly missing. The same actress who played Myrna in P-II (Lee Garlington) has a major role in P-III as an investigative reporter. Who interviews Bates at the restaurant where in the previous movie she worked as a waitress. Shhhh don't tell anyone. Show less «
