Aristotle Linarcos, born in a family who has long been in the shipping business. The Linarcos family goes back as far as ancient Athens; when he was younger he watched as the POSEIDON was being built as his father took him to see the progress. From his memory, he recalled the moment the POSEIDON made it's way down the slip and out to float. He was 12 years old, he thought it was going to be a normal, graceful slide into the quay. However he had seen her nearly capsize on it's way out. It sent shivers down his spine and hoped he would never see it happen in real life. The Linarcos family owned the Greek Majestic Line and lost it in a cruel take over, thus plunging Aristotle to work for the line, in charge of scrapping the ship. He was not too happy about it, as it was a large part of his life. To this day, the words he uttered in the film is based on possible coersion from the owners.
